Biography
GAANHEERA Hema Upasani was born & brought up in the musical environment. She is the daughter of PT.NATH NERALKAR who is one of the greatest HIDUSTANI CLASSICAL VOCALIST from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
Music is in her very genes!
Hema is well known & famous for her versatile performances. She has a sonorous voice which she groomed with indefatigable Riyaz. Her Raagdari has the power to touch the chords of the souls of listeners.
Today Gazal has become an integral part of music concerts. Especially interest in semi-classical music, Hema has intuitively mastered each & every delicacy of Gazal. An aesthetic innovation in each concert is her forte. She has carved a place for herself by singing Bhajans & Gazals in an exclusively magnificent style.
Great art can never be delimited to the Frame of the academic world. In India, the great artists have towered above the academic fortifications.
Hema is a rare blend of academic excellence and that of wonderful phenomenon---- the genius. Her art, her devotion, and her voice have a rare throb of the human emotions. Through her voice, Hema voices all human sentiments. That is why she has a potential to be the voice of human sentiments.

Bhartiya Ghandharva Mahavidhayala, miraj.{MAHARASHTRA}
Ø Hema continued to scale new heights under the able guidance of PT.NATH NERALKAR & PT.RAGHUNATH SETH OF MUMBAI.
Ø Hema was the coveted GAANHEERA award from S.N.D.T university, Mumbai from the hands of the GOVERNER OF MAHARASHTRA.
ØShe won the gold medals during 1992 -1994 in respective three national youth festivals, at Madhurai, Kurukshetra, & Banaras.
Ø Hema was invited by MAHARASHTRA TOURISM DEVLOPMENT CORPORATION to give a performance in the ELLORA FESTIVAL. For Hindustani Classical & especially for Urdu Gazals.
Ø Similarly HEMA was invited by honorable shri P.C ALEXANDER IN MAHARASHTRA to give a performance on the occasion of the INDEPENDENCE DAY musical evening.
Ø She has given especially her important performances at RASHTRIYA EKATMATA SANGEET SAMAROH, AURANGABAD.
